My name is Amanda Dawn (Sarah Riva) Spiro and on July 19th, 2007 – at the age of 21 – I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I was forced to suddenly put my life on hold and come to grips with a new and frightening situation. However, through this journey I was blessed to discover an inner strength as I slowly became aware of the power of my Neshama – Jewish soul – and witnessed on a daily basis just how much light can come from a seemingly dark place. I saw the hand of G-d at work in everything that was happening to me. Nine years later I am an observant Jew and I’m here to share my story with you.
